Mike Pantrey started his career in 1998 with the National Caravan Council, providing technical support to its members, primarily focussing on standardisation and legislation compliance. He sat on a number of BSI and IEEE and SMMT committees, and drafted significant portions of a number of BS Standards.
In 2000 he moved to Britax (Rumbold) Aircraft Cabin Interiors, spending 3 years working in production planning and production Engineering, including taking responsibility for a small team planning and introducing into production a wide range of footwells, bulkheads, stowages, bar facilities for a number of high profile aviation customers, as well as working in the business's 5S lean manufacturing and Kaizen team on a number of internal projects.
In 2003 Mike was employed by Pinzgauer Ltd (latterly BAE Systems), and took the role as Lead Engineer for electrical systems. In the 5 years he was with Pinzgauer, Mike led the development and introduction of wide range of customer specified projects, including introduction of BOWMAN onto the platform, custom power distribution for a range of other specialist military equipment, adaption to fire engines and addition of specialist tactical lighting amongst other projects. For the last three years Mike also took the electrical lead in the development project for 'Pinz II', a replacement for the original base vehicle with a new powertrain, and a completely new, ground-up design of the vehicle electrical system, culminating in the delivery of 3 fully running validation prototypes.
Mike joined RDVS as Principal Engineer in May 2008 after a short sabbatical, volunteering at The Exploratorium in San Francisco.
