Military Vehicle
RDVS were chosen as the lead electrical systems design supplier
of an extensive update programme to a well established military
vehicle. The vehicle is currently undergoing a full modernisation
programme complete with new engine, transmission and a completely
new body electrical control system.
The new electrical architecture is based around the industry
standard J1939 commercial CAN bus communications system and will
incorporate onboard Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) to
provide leading edge state of health diagnostics.
As the electrical lead on this three year programme RDVS have
designed and developed a Labcar system for long term development of
the vehicle during its service life. The Labcar provides a hardware
model of the vehicle's onboard electrical systems and provides a
test environment for the software development process without
having to have access to a complete vehicle.
In the role of electrical design lead, RDVS have produced a full
military vehicle design specification, test and sign off
programme.
