RDVS provides a complete system design service - ranging from
the design of individual electrical and electronic components to
complete vehicle electrical architectures.
Vehicle Integration & System Design
Vehicle integration is one of our core skills. We have many years
experience in incorporating new systems and subsystems into
existing electrical architectures. These have ranged from the
integration of complete new powertrains into vehicles through to
basic enhancements for added features.
Component Design
We have in house components design capability to meet your
requirements. Some recent projects have involved the specification,
design and development of:
- Battery Interface Module for a Traction Battery. The design incorporates a CAN gateway separating the vehicle CAN network from the battery CAN network.
- High Voltage Power Distribution Unit (HV PDU) for an electric car, incorporating pre-charge function, HV contactors, PTC heater control, 1kW DC/DC converter all with CAN control.
- Multi-channel PTC heater controller for control of heating on a electric car.
- CAN interfaces - bespoke units to customer specifications.
EDS Design
We use industry leading CAD tools, Vesys Design, Autocad, CATIA V5
allowing full simulation and analysis of designs at a schematic
level before they are committed for physical design and
manufacture. Interfaces with 3D M-CAD systems and harness design
and manufacturing packages, further enhance the design
process.
Network Design
We use Vector CANalyser extensively in creation of our vehicle
network systems and messaging database work.
